Mid-Century Furniture and MOD -- A Perfect Pair

At Mod Restoration, we love working with famous, mid-century designer furniture. We've developed the reputation of being the go-to company for reupholstering mid-century chairs & sofas. Some of our recent work includes Charles + Ray Eames, Hans Wegner, Adrian Pearsall and Milo Baughman.

Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman: We reupholstered this original 1950's chair in a Maharam fabric called Letters for our October 2011 Elle Décor magazine ad. This piece was originally introduced in 1956 for Herman Miller.

Charles + Ray Eames are known for the most classic, iconic designs of the 20th century. In the 1950's, the Eames' pioneered innovative technologies, such as the fiberglass, plastic resin chairs, and wire mesh chairs. The Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman was featured prominently on Frasier; it appears in Dr. Gregory House's office on the hit FOX series House; it was featured in Chandler and Joey's apartment on Friends; it's visible on the cover of Larry King's autobiography Truth Be Told; and it is frequently seen being used in AMC's hit series Mad Men. read more »
